Hazel was unfortunately found abandoned outside of Ohio University during move-out weekend. When she came to us, the vet estimated she had recently weaned a litter of kittens, so we suspect she may have been used for breeding and then abandoned. 

When Hazel first arrived, she was terrified. She would cry if anyone touched her, hide anywhere she could, and wanted nothing to do with people. But over the last three months, she's made amazing progress. She's started purring, playing, and even rubbing up against us for attention.
 

Hazel is still a shy girl, so she'll need a patient adopter who's willing to let her come out of her shell at her own pace. She is a night owl, so don't be alarmed if she spends most of the daytime hiding. Hazel would do best in the home with another cat, since having a feline friend helps her feel more comfortable. She would be perfect for someone looking for a friend for their own kitty., but more than anything, she just needs someone to love her forever.
